You are transitioning to a new unit on Properties of Matter. On Monday you should be completing and turning-in the Graphic Organizer for Physical and Chemical Changes. Afterwards you will be acquiring background on Solids, Liquids, and gasses using one of three sources provided in class or your own device at home. These should be completed by Wednesday. On Friday we will review for Unit Ten District Benchmark Assessment which will be taken in class on the 9th or 10th as discussed in class. Community Service proposals and hours should have been turned-in to your first period teacher last Friday. Wednesday the 18th is Early Release. Bring in the Pop Top Tabs for Ronald MacDonald Charities please. Taylor G. has brought the most so far. We have a personal connection to this charity since a student shared that her family stayed in a RMH when her brother was in the hospital out of town. Your EOY will either be on May 31st or June 1st depending on your class period.
Periods 3, 4, & 5:
You are entering the unit on Health and the Human Body. Monday you should wrap up your summative Classification project and turn-in. No more class time will be provided after Monday and you will lose one point up to two after that. MYP D Reflecting on the impact of science : I. ii. iii are the criteria. The next unit will also be D but will focus on documentation of sources. You or you and a team will learn about the systems of the body and create a presentation for your classmates to include a handout for students to study from and up to 8 slides (8 posters 8" x 11"). Rubrics will be provided in class. this will take about 10 days. Your EOY will either be May 31 or June 1st. Bring in your soda tabs for our charity collection in science class for the Ronald MacDonald House. One of our students has stayed there while a sibling was ill. Early release is May 18th.
