This week we are learning about the Earth's Atmosphere. In class this week we are constructing a graphic Atmosphere blue foldable and a Layers of the Atmosphere Pop-up foldable. I have planned for a quiz on Thursday which will depend on student readiness. The only homework will be if one of the folding organizers needs to be completed and to read the notes made to study for the quiz. Have a great week!

Monday is a teacher workday. No school for you.
Projects on scientists should be completed and turned-in. Half credit on Tuesday. Tuesday all classes should be working on interactions among earth's spheres in one form or another. Homework only as needed to finish classwork. This might be a good night to organize your folder with Table of Contents or update your glossary in your logbook. There should be a quiz on Thursday. Oh yes and we should have a special guest this week. Wednesday, study for a quiz on Earth's spheres. Today we will be doing an individualized gallery assessment. No HW unless you need to study. Thursday: finish assessment work on examples of spheres interactions/ you may need your own device for research. Due on Monday. Friday: Anti bully lessons and for homework finish your quick presentation on Earth Spheres Event from class this week. Let's review some of the activities from last week: This week coming up:
Monday & Tuesday: All Classes will have computers. Students will try out the online textbook first. Secondly they will work on their Wanted Scientist Poster. The only homework will be project work. The projects completed in Office 365 can be shared or sent to me: [email protected]. That would mean that you would have to select another choice besides applying a border and turning in. Wednesday is Early Release. All Classes: Finish up any classwork. You may have a straw and paper plane to design and test at home. Please do not make one until you are instructed to do so in class. Thursday: We will either be starting a new unit on Earth's Systems or finishing out the week with some labs. You will have to stay tuned to find out. Your Wanted Scientist poster is due tomorrow electronically or by hand. Friday: No Homework :) Monday: No School All students have the scientist project rubrics or you can download from your class page. We will have laptops on the 12th to facilitate your project.
Tuesday All Classes: Students worked on the exploration explanation of why students who had the same evidence cards (23 words and 1 blank) would get such different results. Students continue to differentiate Science from Non Science. A Demo was started in most classes which will be concluded on Thursday. (Thanks Sean.) Wednesday All: Elephant Poem and Science World article choices. "How does your point of view influence your conclusion?" Finish as HW if you did not finish in class. Parents: Don't forget open house tomorrow night 6:00-7:30. Follow your student's schedule that was given out in first period on Tuesday. Thursday All: Finish Demo and now it is your turn. Change one thing, position, amount, size,... what will be the effect of your change on _______? Testing and evaluating. May be continued on Friday. Friday All: Open Logbook True and False Quiz. I've been asking you to justify your thinking. Let's see if we are getting the concepts. It is open logbook, but if I were you I would review what we have been doing in class. |
