Periods 3, 4, & 5: Check out the new pics on our class page. Student conferences held last Friday, Monday and Tuesday as needed individually.
Students will be creating and evaluating distance verses time graphs. We will begin reviewing for our next unit Benchmark Assessment. Make sure that you are making good notes with complete thoughts as these will also help for the EOY in 17 weeks. No specific homework unless you have make-ups. Let me know if you need anything from the class page on the website. I can't fix what I don't know is broken.
Tuesday: periods 1, 2, 6. & 7: Evaluate the Rube Goldberg Machine. Begin to design your own based on the parameters given in class. If all goes as planned you will present tomorrow and Thursday.
periods 3, 4, & 5: Assessed Distance verses Time graphs today. You may have received the article "Energy Screams," to do a close read in class. If you did and did not get to finish, then review that tonight. You might have an alternative assignment, but there is not any official homework planned for tonight.
Wednesday: periods 1, 2, 6, & 7: Plans and designs for your machine are due today and tomorrow. You will follow the directions from class. I hope you are having fun with this one. Tell your parents or another adult when you do an activity that you enjoy in school. Oh yeah, tell me, too. As soon as I can, I will notify you of your next benchmark and start helping you with a review.
periods 3, 4, & 5: Forces: Chapter 9 lesson 1. We will be learning to categorize forces. Some of them sound familiar and link to our energies. We should have started a foldable to keep track of our vocabulary terms and make connections. If you are studying for your next progress monitoring test, review distance time graphs and energy transformations. I will post the date as soon as I have the schedule confirmed. No extra homework. If you did not previously review the physical science notes from the MidYear Review, now would be the time. You can still download a copy or see me for a printed one.
Thursday: 1, 2, 6, & 7: Introduced Dr. Titov from the Jason Project today in preparation for a major summative. You probably have an article from class to summarize for your group tomorrow. Try to relate the article to how early warning of a tsunami with the transfers and transformations of energy, can help people around the globe like advanced hurricane warnings help us. Don't forget to check out your class page.
3, 4, & 5: Finishing forces and reviewing energy and forces unit. Read over your notes. There might be an open note quiz tomorrow. I will tell you in class. I do not have anything required for tonight's HW.
Friday: Unless you have makeup work or notes to study, enjoy time with your family and friends. Read a book or draw a picture. I can't wait to see you next week.
