Monday in class, we will be finishing Quiz and receiving the summary of the lesson Global Patterns as in how do Global patterns affect local weather? Finish your summary and review in time to provide feedback for the Quiz. I would like these on Wednesday. There is a new Nearpod.com for this week which we will be reviewing in class. The new one is Climate Zone Causes, and the code is EGLBP. Air Pressure and Density has been available for about 2 weeks now. Use UTGWZ for it. We will have an extensive lab this week on global circulation which should help you put it all together. We will tentatively plan a Quiz on Friday but may need to make it next week. A Quarterly test is needed over all of last nine weeks content which we may have on Thursday, Friday or Monday depending on how things go. Write this information from class into your agenda so that you will be prepared. We will review the day before. You will not be able to use your notes as this is a District Assessment to check our progress. Come to class prepared and ready to learn. It will be a great week!
Welcome everyone. This week will be exciting in science. We will be sharing our Global spheres projects in class with the exception of 8th period on Tuesday the 31st. I have already checked several projects and have noticed that many of you need to include your planning sheet with the rubric. The project by itself is only worth 10 points without your plan and the tie-in to Imagining a hopeful future. All aspects contribute to the 25 points. The planning sheet allows me to interpret your intention behind your presentation, and I am able to provide your feedback. So get these turned-in so that we can enjoy everyone's Missing sphere concept on Tuesday. Eighth period will need to present on Monday or another day we determine in class.

Directions on it include the new chapter on Classlink for students to use. Remember to go through the Polk County (www.polk-fl.net) to access Classlink and then to CK-12; Comprehensive science 1 with the hurricane cover. Heat transfer is in Chapter 3. On Thursday students will be working on their Spheres project that is due Friday to Monday without being late. Friday should be a quiz day. Some students will have Atmosphere Quiz and Heat transfer to do. There are notes on the electromagnetic spectrum and a graph students need to make in their logbooks. It will be a busy week in science. Stay alert :)
Monday: Student holiday.
Tuesday: Welcome back. Students will continue working on creating models for the different layers of the Atmosphere. Students will complete one of 2 reviews on the Composition of the Atmosphere or Energy in the Atmosphere. On youtube, Mr. Parr has 3 songs that students are encouraged to learn to help them remember these concepts that we are covering: 1 The Atmosphere song; 2 The electromagnetic Spectrum; 3 Global Warming. Students may also go at their own pace on Nearpod.com. Use the following codes to review or learn the following 3 concepts: UIBDY for review of Earth's Spheres; EGLBP for Global warming; Pressure and density in the Atmosphere: UTGWZ. Thursday will be the County mandatory Drug Prevention lessons and our Hispanic Heritage Festival. Students are invited to take a quiz on their lessons as they complete them or on Friday. It is going to be a great week! All classes:This week on Monday, we will begin the Hole in a Bottle Lab whole class then in our groups; continue collecting data on our Bio Scratch Lab in groups; go over our grades with me and turn-in or complete our Spheres Interaction Chart, Spheres Pie Graphic and Quiz which may be missing from last week's assignments to enter in this marking period which ends Wednesday. On Tuesday, Students will be collecting data as needed on Bio Scratch Or Bottle lab as needed. Independently students will begin learning about the structure and layers of the Earth's Sphere: Atmosphere. The online link to CK-12 textbook is available under classlink and also on your homepage. There are foldables and other activities which students may use to master the skill. A review and passage summary will be distributed on Tuesday to be completed for HW. In case there is a District mandated prevention lesson on Friday, the Atmosphere Quiz may be moved to Monday.
