We are in the 4th week of Distance Learning. Hopefully everyone is logging into Google Classroom and submitting assignments. Today you have an assignment that was discussed last week in our conference chat concerning Earth Day. I hope that you can complete a slide that I assigned in Google Classroom concerning your Earth Day Activities. Continue to reach out to me with questions or concerns as we move forward in distance learning. All the best, [email protected].

Hello and I hope that everyone is staying healthy and safe. I have finalized the grades for the 3rd term and am looking forward to the final 4th 9 weeks. I miss you all very much. I am trying to read some new books and am waiting on the district to guide the teachers on how to proceed. Enjoy your break now as I am sure that there will be some way to resume instruction to follow. I surely hope that we will see each other soon. Most sincerely, Mrs. Sitta
Hello everyone. Today we have the Black History Month culminating Festival and celebration. Everyone is excited. In class we are learning bout motion and the forces that cause motion. Lots of opportunities for lab work make these lessons extra fun! Keep studying at home through your Interactive textbook or Reading Essentials book. How well do you know Newton's Laws?
As the semester comes to a close and students head home for a winter break, make a reflection and resolution to be organized, proactive and responsible for your science learning. I am thankful for the time we have had so far and will be planning activities for the second half of the year, I look forward to a new term with you as you prepare for 7th grade. Thank you all for the thoughtful cards and gifts. After all, you are my silver package!
Exciting things are happening at LCMA! We have completed our first 9 weeks, had a Hispanic Festival, survived the nurse lessons, and celebrating being free from drugs with Red Ribbon festivities. A-Team will be starting in November. See the page for more details. Fall is in the air. Students are learning to self manage with their planners and work. We are learning about weather and climate. We have hazardous weather and land-formations in our future. Stay tuned!
Students in Advanced science classes are finishing their unit on Spheres by relating a Zombie Anthrax outbreak in Siberia to Earth's systems. Honors Students chose their own event to relate their knowledge of Earth's spheres for their MYP assessment. All students will be taking the district progress monitoring Test on Thursday, October 3rd. The Hispanic Festival is coming. Students in 2nd period have adopted Puerto Rico to cover our classroom door with pictures, facts, and culture, It is going to be GREAT! Don't forget to use your reading essentials to reinforce and locate information we are studying in class.
AGENDAS are here! Students may purchase one for 10 dollars. All students are expected to use one as it contains interactive features, hall passes, assessments, and has all the necessary information that an LCMA student needs. Book fair is here this week. Check your grades as Interims will be printed and going home this week. Open House is Tuesday evening. Parents, we are so excited to see you! It was a blessing to have a few extra days off for hurricane Dorian, but now we must jump ahead. Hopfully that you are as excited about your class as I am!
Welcome Everyone to LCMA Sitta Science classes. We have had two very exciting weeks of school. Still no Agendas, but badges and pictures were taken and made. All science students should have brought home a Reading Essentials companion to our in class textbook. This book should stay at home for reading and make-up work. If I assign a passage that has work to bring in, you will see the pages posted on your class page. There is a table of contents which will help you locate the content of study at any time.
A FAMOUS SCIENTIST or WANTED SCIENTIST Project will be due this Friday before the long weekend. You will receive a rubric on Tuesday or Wednesday. Most of your class time on Wednesday & Thursday will be devoted to the project. This is your first MYP Assessment.
