Hello everyone. You have finished the Prevention lessons with the nurses and are presenting your projects on a sphere interaction event. I have received some terrific ones online and enjoyed the skits, posters, movies, and power points presented last Friday. I know that tomorrow will be a great day of projects, too. This week you will select items to place in your portfolio for the upcoming portfolio night later this month. You will also be learning about Natural Disasters that are weather related as well as some that are not. You will be working on your next trifold brochure to be filled with preparation suggestions for a major weather related disaster for Polk County residents. (See Natural disaster rubric 1 and 2 to download now. A copy will be provided in class. Science will grade most of it, but Language Arts will also grade some of it.) You may also be writing a letter to Governor Scott with policy concerns and/or recommendations you think might help Polk County residents better prepare or deal with natural disasters. A-Team will be starting up next week. Be sure to download an advanced permission slip or pick up one from Mrs. Sitta this week. Keep an eye on the class slides so that you know of due dates and assignments ahead of time.
