Periods: 3, 4, & 5: Today we were working on our Tsunami Egg drop. You may have a graph to finish by Wednesday. Tonight, make sure to review your unit 7 Energy notes for your Benchmark assessment is tomorrow.
Tuesday: Periods 1, 2, 6, & 7: Today you had your benchmark test. Unless you haven't turned in your project yet, you do not have homework. Tomorrow is Early Release Schedule. Make sure your parents know, you don't want to be stuck at school.
Periods 3, 4, & 5: Tonight you may have to finish calculating the energy of your egg system and finish your graph. Remember to divide your mass by 1,000 to get Kg. Example: If your mass of the egg system is 6.5 grams, move the decimal 3 places to the left for 0.0065. Then multiply that by gravity: 9.8 m/s2 times the height starting at 50 cm. You don't use the radical key this time. Refer to your example from class. Tomorrow we drop.
Wednesday (Early Release) Periods 1, 2, 6 & 7: Today we will make-up tests and respond to our reflection. Unless you have make-up or late work, enjoy your afternoon.
Periods 3, 4, & 5: If we were able to do our drop today, you have to reflect on the lab. We may have been finishing or evaluating our benchmark tests. Only if you have late or missing assignments will you have homework. Enjoy your afternoon.
Thursday: Periods 1, 2, 6, & 7: We should be starting a new section on classification of organisms today. We probably didn't get far enough for homework either. You might have to classify an organism or finish a foldable if we did. This website http://www.dummies.com/how-to/content/categorizing-mother-nature-the-linnaean-taxonomic-.html might be of help to obtain the seven levels of classification. Also remember you have no school tomorrow :)
Periods: 3, 4, & 5: We should be finished with our Tsunami data collection and onto reflecting and reporting our learning. I am hopeful that we have gotten to the various articles. You are responsible for reading and deciding on key information to share with your group. Do not exceed ten facts. On Monday you will share your article with your group or other classmates before pulling together a report/essay that tells of the impact science has had on the detection and prevention of tsunamis through early warning systems. You do not have any additional homework and there is No school for you tomorrow. Why not read and discuss your article with someone in your family. Chances are that they will not know much about this topic.
Friday: Student holiday.
